Dinner for 10 Cougars
The Student Alumni Connection is excited to invite you to continue a tradition, Dinner for 10 Cougars, a program that helps create a connection between alumni and current UH students. This program consists of alumni-hosted dinners, which enables students to meet successful alumni and fellow students in a casual environment.
UH alumni will host students in their homes or at a restaurant for an evening of good food, good conversation and UH hospitality. This is time for alumni to share their wisdom and experience with current students who may one day be walking in your shoes by hosting. This unique opportunity lets you give back to UH in a different way!
The goal is to bridge the gap between students and alumni. This is an excellent opportunity to make new friends and valuable connections. These wonderful gatherings can range from hamburgers by the grill in the comfort of your own home to a formal feast at a restaurant, it is up to each alum host. You may also host a dinner with another alumni or your alumni group. The host or co-hosts are responsible for the evening’s food and beverages.

FAQ
I live outside of the greater Houston area, can I still host?
Dinner sites must be in the greater Houston area. If you live outside of Houston, consider co-hosting a dinner at another person’s home or at a local restaurant.
My house is too small for 10 guests. What are my options?
If you can’t seat 10 guests, how about 5? You can choose how many people you’d like at your dinner depending on the size of your home and the style of your meal. If you are unable to host in your home, there are alternative options. We are happy to help coordinate a space on campus.
I work until 6:00 p.m. Can the dinner begin later?
Your dinner can begin at any time. While 6:00 p.m. is the suggested start time, you may choose to begin earlier or later, keeping in mind that a typical dinner could last three to four hours.
Am I allowed to serve alcohol?
We suggest that you do not serve alcohol. Although some students will be of age, you will have some that are not.
I am interested in hosting, who should I contact for more information to arrange a date?
