Let the celebration season begin!
February is here, and as you know, in this town February is a party month! Our celebration ranges from Mardi Gras season in Galveston area, to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where 33,000 volunteers and staff come together to support student scholarship. UH Night at the Rodeo this year is on March 7th, so we hope to see you there.
We have many events coming this month, which can all be found on the new UHAA App – check it out! As for our Life Members, we hope to see you at the Life Member Night at Minute Maid Park for March 3, when the UH Cougars take on Mississippi State.
And while I am talking athletics, let me send a special welcome (back) to my classmate and friend Chris Pezman (’92, M.H.M ‘ 97) on his appointment as our VP for Intercollegiate Athletics, and to David Tagliarino (’93), our new Deputy Athletics Director. I’ve known them both over 20 years, and I know we are going to do great things together!
I’m also excited to announce that we have finalized alumni association’s in New York City, Washington D.C., Denver, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and Los Angeles. If you are in those areas, alumni events are coming your way soon. Our next out-of-state event will be in Fullerton, California when the Cougar baseball team faces Cal State Fullerton on February 24.
We are also teaming up with the Landry’s Inc. on a very special co-branded Landry’s signature card for UH alumni only. Be on the lookout for that special opportunity.
Also, please take the time to glance www.houstonalumni.com. Check out all the ways you can volunteer, be involved with a constituent group, and get more information on campus happenings.
Have a great 2018 and Go Coogs!
True we’ll ever be,
