STUDENTS

“I want to thank the Technology Alumni Association for the generous $1,000 Scholarship through the University of Houston Alumni Association. I was incredibly happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as one of the recipients of the scholarship. I am a Mechanical Engineering Technology major with a Drilling minor and Petroleum Technology Certificate. I plan to pursue a career in the upstream petroleum industry upon graduating from the University of Houston. I am currently a junior, and plan to graduate in May 2017. After graduation, I will continue my education with the Project Management Certification at the University of Houston, and will be pursuing efforts to obtain my Master’s Degree after several years of industry experience.

By awarding me this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus on the rigorous coursework. It has inspired me to give back and be actively involved in student organizations such as: Subsea Engineering Society (SES), Society of Manufacturing Engineer s(SME), and Succeed in Engineering Technology (SETS) Program. I hope that I will be able to help other students, just as you have helped me.”

—Stacy Short, 2015–2016 Technology Alumni Association Scholarship.
