The UH Class Ring is a milestone of the UH student experience. It reminds us of our commitment to the UH community, participation in campus traditions and personal success through academic achievements. The interlocking UH logo adorns the top of the official class ring. The right shank presents the University seal — a variation of Sam Houston’s coat of arms — that features flanked martlets, two greyhounds and a winged hourglass with the motto “In Time” above it. The wearer’s graduation year is also featured on this side. The left shank bears the wearer’s degree, a façade of the E. Cullen Building and the University of Houston’s founding date, 1927.

GUARDING OF THE RINGS
You are cordially invited to experience the Guarding of the Rings by Shasta on Thursday, May 1, at the Houston Zoo. A box that will hold your ring will be placed inside Shasta’s habitat from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Zoo will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last entry at 4:00 p.m. A cougar keeper will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Tickets will be available for purchase online for nonmembers of the zoo. Please note: Tickets must be reserved online before visiting, as they will not be sold at the gate. Current UH students receive free admission by reserving tickets online and presenting both their UH ID and their reservation ticket upon entry. To apply the student discount, scroll down to the “Discount Tickets” section, and select the “College Student” option. Be sure to reserve your ticket early!
RING CEREMONY
- Check in is at 2:30 – 3:45 P.M.
- Ceremony is from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M.
- Register Here!
- Only the Ring Wearer/Student needs to register.
- You can bring as many family and friends as you like (they do not need to register)

RING PICKUP
Any rings that are not picked up during the Ring Ceremony will be held in the Athletics/Alumni Center located at 3204 Cullen Blvd., 2nd floor, suite 201 in the Alumni Association Office. Rings can be picked from May 5-6, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any rings not picked up during these dates will be shipped to the address on the ring order form. You do not need an appointment to pick up your ring. Please bring a valid ID.
