Can you believe we are done with the Spring semester already?
So much has happened, not only in the semester, but in the last two weeks, that are historic for our University. We had our largest attendance at the 65th Annual Alumni Awards program, and the legislative unanimous support in the Texas State Senate for approval of our new College of Medicine, has all of us feeling very proud. There’s nothing we can’t do when we put our efforts together for a goal — we are the Powerhouse for sure!
I can’t believe I am even telling you, we are already planning for the upcoming football season, which kicks off on Sunday, September 1 at Oklahoma (yes, that’s a date change in case you missed it). As travel and tailgate information becomes available, we will update you at houstonalumni.com. We also have announced new alumni trips to the Bahamas with our men’s and women’s golf team followed by the big game at UCF in late October, and we have another fantastic trip to India with President Khator, that will sell out very soon.
Thanks to all of you that helped our constituent alumni associations distribute over $150,000 in scholarship funds this semester. Your support of events that make this happen and your volunteerism are the catalyst for continued ascension of our alma mater.
All the best for a great beginning to Summer and I hope to see you in person soon. Until then, as always, Go Coogs!
True we’ll ever be,
