Happy Fall Season to all our UH Cougar Alumni!!
It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you, our strong, vibrant, and most awesome Cougar Nation! I am Laurie Rutherford, (’86, M.B.A. ’91, M.S. ’04), former Lady Cougar basketball player (1981-86), Little Sister of Phi Slama Jama, and your UHAA Foundation Board President for 2019-2020. I am excited for our alumni this month and this year. We have a lot to offer you.
Our UHAAF is in full active swing with our new strategic plan. Like all great athletes and project managers, we have created the plan, prepared for the plan, and now comes the hard part; now is the time to execute the plan. We look forward to seeing you join us at the upcoming events and that you enjoy seeing and interacting with your fellow University of Houston Cougar Alumni. I want to meet each and every one of our UH Alumni, but with over 270,000 living alumni, that may take a while. I always love a challenge!
On the horizon we have the Cougar 100 Company celebration on Monday, October 21st, a mid-week football game against our foes of Dallas, SMU, on October 24th, and mark your calendar now for all of our Homecoming festivities the week of November 11th. More on Homecoming can be found here.
Don’t forget – UHAA Life Members are eligible for complimentary tailgating in the Life Member Tent at TDECU Stadium….oh, you are not a UHAA Life Member yet? Sign up here and you are eligible for a multitude of discounts at your favorite establishments and other outstanding perks. Besides, be a Proud UH Cougar Alumni and show your colors. Let’s paint our Houston, our Texas, and our U.S.A. RED and WHITE!
I look forward to meeting you and Go Coogs!
True We’ll Ever Be,
Laurie A. Rutherford
