Hello Cougars!

I hope you all are enjoying a restful and enjoyable summer, either with your family or with friends and classmates. Relaxation is a very important part of our lives, and summertime is the most obvious time to take a moment and slow down. I want to wish you and your family the safest and most enjoyable of summers.

If you’re on campus, you’ll see that your Alumni Association is feverishly getting ready for yet another busy season as September 1 quickly approaches. Although most people think that September 1 is the start of our year, frankly we really get into our planning stages for the upcoming fall semester as early as June 15!

Thank you to all the volunteers across our many constituent alumni associations. Your hard work and dedication will make this upcoming year the best it can possibly be. The events, networking opportunities and the other ways for you to engage with your alma mater are simply incredible. I hope you will find time to join us at one of the upcoming events!

I also want to remind you that UHAA will be reissuing your alumni card to you via email very soon, so be on the lookout for that. We will be requesting your alumni card when you attend our events, especially during football season. Be sure to have that saved on your phone or mobile device. Check out our website at www.houstonalumni.com for all the information and benefits you will experience when you use your alumni card.

There are certain events we would like to make sure you know are coming: the football season’s big kick off, our Alumni Association’s annual meeting, this year’s Homecoming festivities in October, and the big Cougar 100 celebration in November.

So continue to enjoy your summer, but we get ready for the fall! I hope to see many of you over the course of the next several months as we venture into the new academic year. It’s going to be the best one yet!

All the best and Go Coogs!
