Hello Cougars!

University of Houston
Associate Vice President
Alumni Relations
Summer is finally here, but we’re not quite done with the excitement!
What a great event we had early in May at our 63rd annual Alumni Awards Gala. The slate of honorees and the attendees had a spectacular evening celebrating the most engaged University of Houston alumni and friends. Mark your calendars for next April 28, 2018 for the 64th edition of this great evening. If you have alumni you’d like to nominate for the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Distinguished Service Award or the Outstanding Volunteer Award, please go to our website — we would love to hear those names!
We hosted ring ceremonies for more than 1300 juniors and seniors from the University this spring. It was our honor to recognize those who graduated at the commencement ceremonies in May. If you’re one of these newest additions to our Cougar family, welcome to the team!
As the summer continues, all of our College Alumni Associations will be hosting their annual meetings, so I encourage you to attend the meetings that are relevant to you.
And on a personal note, I also want to send our best wishes to all those graduating high school and coming to the University of Houston either over the summer or beginning in the fall. My daughter, Krista, is one of the newest Cougars to be joining the family beginning in September. If you have a legacy student attending the University, let us know so we can welcome them when they arrive on campus.
I hope each and every one of you have a safe and enjoyable summer, and maybe will see you at one of the events remaining in June — like the Engineering Alumni Awards Gala. Other than that, let us know if you’re on campus over the summer. I’ll be happy to give you a campus tour myself!
Go Coogs!
